About Lake Arrowhead
Lake Arrowhead sits at 5,100 feet in the San Bernardino Mountains, a private lake of about 780 acres and 185 feet deep, formed by a 1904 dam on Little Bear Creek meant for a Mojave irrigation scheme that never happened. Only property owners may boat on it, which is part of the appeal.
Lake Arrowhead Village on the south shore, the Tudor-style homes under the pines and a long list of film-industry residents made it the Los Angeles mountain getaway of the 1920s and 30s; it still is.
