About Lake Lucy
Lake Lucy sits in Chanhassen, a Minneapolis suburb in Carver County, roughly 25 miles southwest of downtown. The lake covers about 79 acres with a shoreline near two miles, small enough to see across from most points along its edge. Homes line much of the perimeter, and the lake sits within a city park system that includes trails and a public access point for residents.
The surrounding area developed through the 1980s and 1990s as Chanhassen grew from farmland into a Twin Cities suburb, and Lake Lucy Road still traces the lake's north side as a main local route. The lake draws anglers working panfish and bass, along with residents who kayak or paddleboard on calmer water rather than boat traffic. Its modeled depth reaches about 34 feet, giving it more structure than the shallow prairie potholes common elsewhere in the county.
