About Lake Vermilion

Lake Vermilion in northeastern Minnesota is about 40 miles long with 365 islands and 340 miles of shoreline, 76 feet at its deepest, named from the Ojibwe for its sunset color. Tower, Cook and the Bois Forte reservation share it; Lake Vermilion–Soudan Underground Mine State Park is on the east end.
