About Prior Lake
Prior Lake is a natural lake system in Scott County, Minnesota, covering about 1,340 acres just south of the Twin Cities and giving its name to the city that grew up around it. The lake sits within land held by the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, whose Mystic Lake Casino, one of the largest tribal gaming operations in the country, sits on its shore. Suburban growth has filled in most of the lake's surrounding land in recent decades, and boating and fishing access is concentrated around the public landings on its north and south basins.
