About Blue Mountain Lake

Blue Mountain Lake covers about 1,334 acres in the central Adirondacks of Hamilton County, New York, up to 100 feet deep and dotted with ten islands, forming the eastern end of the Eckford chain of lakes. The Prospect House, built on its shore in 1881, was the first hotel in the world wired for electric light in every room, and the lake has drawn vacationers ever since. Today the Adirondack Experience museum overlooks the water from a rise on the east shore, and the hamlet of Blue Mountain Lake sits at the south end. Lake trout, landlocked salmon, and smallmouth bass are what keep the anglers coming back.

On the board
  • 6 depth layers, each step engraved with its depth in feet
  • Compass rose, title block with coordinates, max depth and area; keyhole hanger on the back
Why we cut this one
Blue Mountain Lake is one of the lakes people ask us for by name — the kind of shoreline where the house has a name and the dock has a history. This board is cut from the same depth grid the configurator uses for all 104,419 lakes, so the shape is the real one.
