About Canandaigua Lake
Canandaigua Lake is the fourth-largest of the Finger Lakes, about 15.5 miles long and 276 feet deep, with the city of Canandaigua at its north end and Naples at the south. The Seneca creation story places their origin on Bare Hill on the east shore; the name means 'the chosen spot'.
The city pier's boathouses, Squaw Island, Kershaw Park and the Bristol Hills make it the most visibly settled Finger Lake; Naples at the south end is grape-pie country.
