About Greenwood Lake

Greenwood Lake straddles the state line between Orange County, New York, and Passaic County, New Jersey, about 7 miles long and 57 feet deep, raised by a dam for the Morris Canal in 1836. Babe Ruth and Derek Jeter have both called it home; the village of Greenwood Lake sits at the north end.

On the board
  • 11 roads engraved around the shore, 1 of them labeled
  • 6 depth layers, each step engraved with its depth in feet
  • Compass rose, title block with coordinates, max depth and area; keyhole hanger on the back
Why we cut this one
Greenwood Lake is one of the lakes people ask us for by name — the kind of shoreline where the house has a name and the dock has a history. This board is cut from the same depth grid the configurator uses for all 104,419 lakes, so the shape is the real one.
