The lake

About Owasco Lake

Owasco Lake is the sixth-largest of the Finger Lakes, about 11 miles long and 177 feet deep, with the city of Auburn at the north end and Moravia at the south. Emerson Park's beach and the Cayuga County fairgrounds mark the outlet; the name is Iroquois for 'the crossing'.

Why we cut this one

Owasco Lake is one of the lakes people ask us for by name — the kind of shoreline where the house has a name and the dock has a history. This board is cut from the same depth grid the configurator uses for all 104,419 lakes, so the shape is the real one.
