About Schroon Lake

Schroon Lake in Essex and Warren counties is about 9 miles long and 152 feet deep, the largest lake in the eastern Adirondacks after Lake George. The town of Schroon Lake's beach and bandstand, Word of Life Island and Pharaoh Lake Wilderness to the east make up its shore.

On the board
  • 75 roads engraved around the shore, 1 of them labeled
  • 6 depth layers, each step engraved with its depth in feet
  • Compass rose, title block with coordinates, max depth and area; keyhole hanger on the back
Why we cut this one
Schroon Lake is one of the lakes people ask us for by name — the kind of shoreline where the house has a name and the dock has a history. This board is cut from the same depth grid the configurator uses for all 104,419 lakes, so the shape is the real one.
