About Lake Harmony

Lake Harmony sits in Kidder Township, Carbon County, in the heart of the Pocono Mountains, with the lakeside village of the same name built up as a summer colony by the early 1900s — early accounts describe cottages going up for vacationers from Mauch Chunk (now Jim Thorpe) and Allentown. Split Rock Lodge, on the lake's shore, started as a private retreat for executives of the Lehigh Coal and Navigation Company before opening to the public; it burned in 1970, was rebuilt, and today operates as Split Rock Resort. Most of the housing around the lake is still seasonal, and boating and fishing remain the draw.

On the board
  • 16 roads engraved around the shore, 7 of them labeled
  • 6 depth layers, each step engraved with its depth in feet
  • Compass rose, title block with coordinates, max depth and area; keyhole hanger on the back
Why we cut this one
Lake Harmony is one of the lakes people ask us for by name — the kind of shoreline where the house has a name and the dock has a history. This board is cut from the same depth grid the configurator uses for all 104,419 lakes, so the shape is the real one.
