The lake
About Bull Shoals Lake
Bull Shoals Lake was created in 1951 when the Corps of Engineers finished Bull Shoals Dam on the White River — the fifth-largest dam in the world at the time it was built. It covers about 45,000 acres across the Arkansas-Missouri line, with 700 miles of shoreline and depths to 210 feet, its bedrock bottom giving unusually clear water. Mountain Home is the lake's main town, and the trout water on the White River below the dam is as famous as the lake itself.
