About Baileys Point Campground

Baileys Point Campground sits on the shores of Lake Barkley, the long reservoir formed by the Barkley Dam on the Cumberland River. The Army Corps of Engineers manages the grounds as part of its wider network of lake-access recreation areas across the region, keeping the five camping loops and shoreline open to the public through the camping season.

Campers come mainly for the water — the boat launch puts anglers and pontoon owners onto Barkley within minutes, and the lake's open coves draw families out for the day even when they're not staying overnight. The campground is a short drive from Scottsville, Kentucky, making it a easy base for stocking up on supplies before a weekend on the water.
