About Holly Bay Campground

Holly Bay Campground sits on Laurel Lake in the Daniel Boone National Forest, a clear-water reservoir tucked into the hills of southeastern Kentucky. The U.S. Forest Service oversees the grounds, with a concessionaire handling day-to-day operations across the campground's loops. Boaters back trailers down the launch each morning, chasing bass and crappie across water known for its visibility and steep, forested shoreline.

Campers return for the pace as much as the lake itself — quiet loops, tree cover, and short walks to the restroom facilities scattered through the grounds. London, Kentucky, a short drive north, supplies groceries and gas, but Holly Bay keeps travelers close to the water and away from crowds. Families favor the shallower coves for swimming, while anglers stake out the launch before sunrise.
