About North Bend Park Campground

North Bend Park sits on a wide bend of Kerr Lake (Buggs Island Lake), the reservoir formed along the Roanoke River on the Virginia–North Carolina line. The Army Corps of Engineers manages the park as part of its Kerr Lake recreation network, with looped roads spreading campers across nearly 300 acres of shoreline and woods.

Campers come for the swim beach and boat launch, both an easy walk from most loops, plus a playground for kids and a dump station for pull-through visits. The park draws a steady mix of anglers chasing striper and crappie, families on summer break, and boaters based out of nearby Boydton, the small Mecklenburg County seat a few miles up the road.
