About Great Pond
Great Pond forms the boundary between Rome and Belgrade in central Maine, the largest of the Belgrade Lakes chain at about 8,239 acres. Camps have lined its shore for generations, and Ernest Thompson's visits here inspired his play 'On Golden Pond.' Boating and fishing, especially for bass, are what draw people back every summer, and the lake feeds into the rest of the Belgrade chain on its way toward the Kennebec River.

Why we cut this one
Great Pond is one of the lakes people ask us for by name — the kind of shoreline where the house has a name and the dock has a history. This board is cut from the same depth grid the configurator uses for all 104,419 lakes, so the shape is the real one.Turn it in your hands
