About Sebago Lake

Sebago Lake is the second-largest lake in Maine and the deepest at 316 feet — its bottom is well below sea level. It covers about 45 square miles in Cumberland County half an hour from Portland, and it has supplied the city's drinking water since 1869, which is why the water is so clean.

Sebago Lake State Park, Naples at the Songo River locks, Raymond, Standish and Windham make up the shore. Landlocked salmon were first described from this lake, and the Songo River still carries boats through to Long Lake.

On the board
  • 2 shore towns named, with a star on each
  • 1,057 roads engraved around the shore, 7 of them labeled
  • 6 depth layers, each step engraved with its depth in feet
  • Compass rose, title block with coordinates, max depth and area; keyhole hanger on the back
Why we cut this one
Sebago Lake is one of the lakes people ask us for by name — the kind of shoreline where the house has a name and the dock has a history. This board is cut from the same depth grid the configurator uses for all 104,419 lakes, so the shape is the real one.
