About Truman Lake

Truman Lake was built by the Army Corps of Engineers on the Osage River between Clinton and Warsaw, Missouri, with construction starting in 1964 under the working name Kaysinger Bluff before Congress renamed it in 1970 for President Harry Truman, a Missouri native; the dam was finished in 1979. The reservoir covers about 55,600 acres, Missouri's largest by surface area, with nearly 1,000 miles of shoreline stretching up the Osage, South Grand and Pomme de Terre river arms. Harry S Truman State Park sits on a peninsula jutting into the lake near Warsaw.

Why we cut this one
Truman Lake is one of the lakes people ask us for by name — the kind of shoreline where the house has a name and the dock has a history. This board is cut from the same depth grid the configurator uses for all 104,419 lakes, so the shape is the real one.
