About Lake Wentworth

Lake Wentworth is a glacial lake of about 3,097 acres beside Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, up to 80 feet deep at a spot known as Fullers Deep. Its water runs out through the short Smith River into Crescent Lake and then over a dam into Lake Winnipesaukee, so the two lakes rise and fall together. Eighteen islands dot the water, including 106-acre Stamp Act Island, now a nature preserve protected from development by the Nature Conservancy. Wentworth State Park gives boaters and swimmers public access, and the lake fishes well for bass and pickerel without the crowds of its larger neighbor next door.

On the board
  • 2 shore towns named, with a star on each
  • 153 roads engraved around the shore, 1 of them labeled
  • 6 depth layers, each step engraved with its depth in feet
  • Compass rose, title block with coordinates, max depth and area; keyhole hanger on the back
Why we cut this one
Lake Wentworth is one of the lakes people ask us for by name — the kind of shoreline where the house has a name and the dock has a history. This board is cut from the same depth grid the configurator uses for all 104,419 lakes, so the shape is the real one.
