About Little Island Pond
Little Island Pond sits just north of the Massachusetts border, close enough that Lowell's outskirts are a short drive away. Like most kettle ponds in southern New Hampshire, it formed after the last glaciers retreated roughly 14,000 years ago, leaving a basin fed by groundwater and runoff rather than a river system.
