Hills Pond covers about 969 acres, a size that puts it closer to a small lake than the pond its name suggests. It sits within a short drive of Akron, Ohio, in the glaciated terrain typical of the region's northeast quarter. Its shoreline runs roughly 16 miles, well beyond what a simple round or oval basin would produce, which points to an irregular, branching edge with coves and points rather than one open sweep of water.
