About Cedar Creek Reservoir

Cedar Creek Reservoir was completed in 1965 by the Tarrant Regional Water District on Cedar Creek, a tributary of the Trinity River, about 50 miles southeast of Dallas. It covers about 34,000 acres with a maximum depth of 62 feet, and the lake supplies Fort Worth even though the city is nowhere near it. Mabank, Gun Barrel City and Kemp are the shore towns, and three islands are set aside as a wildlife refuge for nesting waterbirds.

On the board
  • 24 shore towns named, with a star on each
  • 2,892 roads engraved around the shore, 6 of them labeled
  • 6 depth layers, each step engraved with its depth in feet
  • Compass rose, title block with coordinates, max depth and area; keyhole hanger on the back
Why we cut this one
Cedar Creek Reservoir is one of the lakes people ask us for by name — the kind of shoreline where the house has a name and the dock has a history. This board is cut from the same depth grid the configurator uses for all 104,419 lakes, so the shape is the real one.
