The lake
About Lake Conroe
Lake Conroe was built in 1973 as a Houston water supply on the West Fork of the San Jacinto, about 21,000 acres and 75 feet deep, with the Sam Houston National Forest on its north shore. Montgomery, Conroe and the golf communities of April Sound and Walden line the south end.
