About Lake Texoma
Lake Texoma was created in 1944 by Denison Dam on the Red River, one of the largest reservoirs in the country at about 89,000 acres and 100 feet deep, its water slightly salty from the Red's upstream beds — which is why striped bass breed here naturally. Denison, Pottsboro and Kingston are its towns.

Is it made from real depth data?
Yes. Lake Texoma is cut layer by layer from published bathymetric soundings — each layer of birch is a depth contour, so the shape of the bottom is the real one, not decorative.
Can I add my own place on it?
Yes. At checkout you can add a line under the title (a family name, a cabin name, a year) and star the spot on the shore that matters to you.
