About Lake Kiowa
Lake Kiowa sits in Cooke County, Texas, north of Gainesville and a short drive from Sherman, formed when a dam was built across Indian Creek in the 1960s to create the centerpiece of a new residential development. The lake and the community around it were designed together from the start, with home lots platted along the shoreline rather than a town growing up around an existing body of water.
Access has always run through the property owners association rather than a public boat ramp, which sets Kiowa apart from most Texas reservoirs of its size. The lake anchors a golf course community popular with retirees and weekend residents from the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and it carries a long-running reputation among members for largemouth bass fishing. Its shape follows the flooded creek channel, giving it narrow coves rather than open, uniform water.

Yes. Lake Kiowa is cut layer by layer from published bathymetric soundings — each layer of birch is a depth contour, so the shape of the bottom is the real one, not decorative.
Can I add my own place on it?
