The lake
About Lake Lewisville
Lewisville Lake was completed in 1955 when the Corps of Engineers finished Lewisville Dam on the Elm Fork of the Trinity River, absorbing the smaller 1927 Lake Dallas two years later. It covers about 29,592 acres with 183 miles of shoreline and a maximum depth of 67 feet, supplying water to Dallas and Denton. Lewisville and Flower Mound line its south end, and the Corps found one of the oldest known human habitation sites in the Southwest while building the dam.
