The lake
About Lake Palestine
Lake Palestine was completed in 1962 when Blackburn Crossing Dam was finished on the Neches River in East Texas, about 25,000 acres with a maximum depth of 58 feet, stretching 18 miles across parts of Anderson, Cherokee, Henderson and Smith counties. Chandler and Frankston are its towns. A pipeline project begun in 2014 is carrying the lake's water 150 miles northwest toward Lake Benbrook to help supply the Dallas-Fort Worth area, on top of the bass, crappie and catfish it has always been known for locally.
