About Pineview Reservoir
Pineview Reservoir was formed in 1937 when a dam closed across the Ogden River in Ogden Valley, then enlarged in the 1950s to its current size behind the Wasatch Range east of Ogden. The reservoir covers roughly 2,800 acres surrounded by the small towns of Huntsville, Eden and Liberty, with Snowbasin and Powder Mountain ski resorts a short drive up into the surrounding peaks. Boating, waterskiing and trout fishing fill the lake all summer, and its water also irrigates the farms of Ogden Valley and Weber County below the dam.
