The lake
About Lake Delavan
Delavan Lake is a natural lake in Walworth County, Wisconsin, covering roughly 1,900 acres with a maximum depth of 52 feet, about an hour and a half northwest of Chicago. Like nearby Geneva Lake, it became a summer resort destination for Chicago families in the late 1800s, and the town of Delavan still carries traces of that circus and showman history — it was once a wintering ground for traveling circuses. Boating, fishing and the public beach at Lake Lawn Resort are its main draws today.
