About Lake Winnebago
Lake Winnebago is the largest lake entirely within Wisconsin, about 30 miles long and 10 wide but only 21 feet deep, with Oshkosh, Neenah-Menasha and Fond du Lac on its shores. Its February sturgeon spearing season, with thousands of shanties on the ice, is unlike anything else in the country; the Niagara Escarpment's ledge forms the east shore.
