About Minocqua Lake

Minocqua Lake is a natural lake in Oneida County in Wisconsin's Northwoods, covering about 1,360 acres with depths to 60 feet. The town of Minocqua sits on a peninsula so nearly surrounded by the lake's water that it has long called itself the 'Island City,' with its downtown business district ringed by water on three sides. The lake connects to a broader chain of Northwoods lakes through the Bearskin and Tomahawk rivers, and its resorts, beaches and walleye fishing have made it one of the best-known vacation lakes in northern Wisconsin.
