About Nagawicka Lake
Nagawicka Lake lies in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, within the chain of lakes fed by the Bark River. Like most lakes in this part of the state, its basin was carved by glacial ice that retreated roughly 12,000 years ago, leaving behind a mix of kettle and moraine terrain. The lake covers about 949 acres and holds close to eight miles of shoreline, bordered by the villages of Delafield and Hartland. Its maximum depth reaches around 50 feet.
Nagawicka Lake is part of the Bark River chain of lakes in the area known locally as Lake Country, west of Milwaukee. Its shoreline is developed with year-round homes and older seasonal cottages, and a lake management district oversees water quality and boat access. The lake supports muskellunge, walleye, and panfish, and draws boaters and anglers from the surrounding Waukesha County communities of Delafield and Hartland, both of which have access points on the water.
