The lake

About Okauchee Lake

Okauchee Lake is a natural lake in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, part of the cluster of glacial lakes known locally as the Oconomowoc-area lake country. It covers about 1,210 acres and reaches a maximum depth of 90 feet, considerably deeper than many of its shallower neighbors, which keeps its water clearer and cooler through the summer. Musky, walleye and bass fishing draw anglers to its steep drop-offs, and the lake's mix of older cottages and newer homes reflects decades as a favored second-home lake for Milwaukee families.

Okauchee Lake is one of the lakes people ask us for by name — the kind of shoreline where the house has a name and the dock has a history. This board is cut from the same depth grid the configurator uses for all 104,419 lakes, so the shape is the real one.
