About Fremont Lake
Fremont Lake is a natural glacial lake carved into the foothills of the Wind River Range, four miles from the town of Pinedale, its outlet dammed by an ancient terminal moraine. It is Wyoming's second-largest natural lake after Yellowstone Lake and one of the deepest in the country, reaching about 600 feet, with cold, clear water scoured by glaciers over tens of thousands of years. A public boat ramp and campgrounds sit at the south end, and the lake is a gateway to backcountry trails climbing into the Bridger Wilderness above it.
