About Lake Blue Ridge
Lake Blue Ridge sits in the mountains of Fannin County, Georgia, formed in 1930 when the Tennessee Valley Authority closed Blue Ridge Dam on the Toccoa River. It's small, about 3,300 acres, but deep for its size at up to 246 feet near the dam, with steep, forested coves typical of the southern Appalachians. The town of Blue Ridge sits just below the dam, and the lake is a short drive from the Toccoa River's popular trout water downstream. A single generator at the dam supplies hydroelectric power to the regional grid.
