The lake
About Lake Burton
Lake Burton was created in 1919 by Georgia Power on the Tallulah River in Rabun County, about 2,800 acres and 105 feet deep with 62 miles of shoreline in the northeast Georgia mountains. The lake covers the old town of Burton; Clayton and the Chattahoochee National Forest surround it.
