About Lake Tranquility
Lake Tranquility sits in the hilly country of northern New Jersey, a small lake built on a scale you can walk around rather than boat across for hours. At 62 acres with about two miles of shoreline, it is one of many mid-sized lakes in this part of the state that grew up as the center of a residential community rather than a public recreation area. Houses ring most of the water's edge, a mix of year-round residents and seasonal owners.
The lake reaches roughly 35 feet at its deepest point, shallow enough that sunlight works most of the water column and supports the kind of weedy, structure-heavy bottom bass and panfish favor. That makes it a fishing lake more than a boating destination, worked from docks, kayaks, and small outboards rather than anything built for open water. Its size keeps activity concentrated near shore, where swimming, fishing, and neighbors talking across yards do more to define the place than the water itself.

Is it made from real depth data?
Yes. Lake Tranquility is cut layer by layer from published bathymetric soundings — each layer of birch is a depth contour, so the shape of the bottom is the real one, not decorative.
Can I add my own place on it?
