The lake
About Norris Lake
Norris Lake was the Tennessee Valley Authority's first project, completed in 1936 on the Clinch and Powell rivers north of Knoxville, about 34,000 acres and 210 feet deep. Its water is the clearest in the TVA system; Norris Dam State Park, the Museum of Appalachia and the houseboat marinas at LaFollette are its landmarks.
