About Isabella Lake
Isabella Lake lies in the rural lowlands west of Olympia, in the patchwork of small lakes and second-growth timber that fills the interior of western Washington between the Sound and the Olympic foothills. At roughly 193 acres it is compact, with a shoreline near two miles that mixes wooded banks with individual home lots. Its depth is modest by regional standards, and most of its water stays within reach of surface temperatures that make it usable for swimming and small-boat fishing through the summer.
The lake functions mainly as a residential and recreational body of water rather than a destination lake, drawing the kind of local traffic typical of small Washington lowland lakes: property owners with docks, seasonal renters, and anglers working for bass, trout, or panfish depending on stocking in a given year. Public access is limited compared to larger regional lakes, and most activity on the water originates from private shoreline rather than a boat launch or park. It remains, foremost, a neighborhood lake rather than a tourist one.
