About Lake Sammamish

Lake Sammamish lies east of Lake Washington, about 7 miles long and 105 feet deep, draining north through the Sammamish River into Lake Washington. The city of Sammamish is on its plateau, with Issaquah at the south end and Redmond and Marymoor Park at the north.

Lake Sammamish State Park at the south end is the public beach; the rest of the shore is residential, with Microsoft and Costco headquarters a few minutes away. It is the first lake to lose its ice each spring, because it rarely has any.

On the board
  • 4 shore towns named, with a star on each
  • 1,918 roads engraved around the shore, 2 of them labeled
  • 6 depth layers, each step engraved with its depth in feet
  • Compass rose, title block with coordinates, max depth and area; keyhole hanger on the back
Why we cut this one
Lake Sammamish is one of the lakes people ask us for by name — the kind of shoreline where the house has a name and the dock has a history. This board is cut from the same depth grid the configurator uses for all 104,419 lakes, so the shape is the real one.
